Raahi

Raahi is a women-led auto-rickshaw service concept built to reduce the hesitation women feel before commuting, especially in unfamiliar areas or late hours. The goal was to empower women & also create a ride experience that feels safe & calm from the first tap to the final drop.

Problem
Women in Mumbai have limited access to women auto drivers, while women drivers face low visibility and social barriers in the profession. With 55% of women in a Mumbai survey reporting sexual harassment while commuting, the gap affects both women’s sense of safety and women drivers’ opportunities to participate in the city’s mobility system.

Process
I combined primary and secondary research by speaking with real users and auto drivers, running surveys, and studying existing mobility platforms. These insights helped uncover key pain points around safety, trust, visibility and accessibility, which then informed the user journey, feature prioritisation, user flows, wireframes and final prototype

Solution
Raahi brings together verified drivers, scheduled rides, emergency support and multilingual access to create a safer, more reliable mobility experience while improving visibility for women auto drivers.

Learnings
This project taught me to design beyond features and think about the larger system around a product, balancing the needs of both passengers and drivers.
